PendingProposed amendments to endorsed plans: We have recently applied for a Building Permit with CodeHQ Building Surveyors. They have reviewed the information we initially provided and in turn, have requested additional information from ourselves, the designer, and the engineer. In addition to this, we requested a concession on one aspect of the design covering the decorative screens and coverage over and side of the pergola. To allow this, they have requested that we obtain secondary consent from GECC. Thus, the reason for this application. The proposal as it stands calls for Decorative Screens to be fitted to the top and north-facing side of the Pergola. Initially, we only requested partial coverage. However, we were hoping to gain a Secondary Consent to amend this to allow full coverage of the top and north-facing side of the pergola with the decorative screens. The reasoning is to provide additional shade to the area, particularly during the summer months. We also believe this will assist in partially blocking the intensity of the sun hitting the living room window. At the moment we have to leave the blinds on this window fully closed, as not doing so allows for excess heat to be drawn into the room, with the UV light damaging the furniture sitting adjacent to this window. Allowing this change should then allow us to open this blind more often during the summer months, particularly in the morning, allowing more light to filter into the room even with the additional shading we perceive will be provided by the additional coverage of the decorative screens.
